Marvin Sands founded the company in 1945 as a family business in Canandaigua, New York. Based in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York, the company has grown over the past 50 years to become the world’s second largest wine company. Through skillful marketing and selective acquisitions of wineries, stretching from the Empire State to the Golden State and the Pacific Northwest, Canandaigua Wine is committed to satisfying the tastes and preferences of consumers from around the world.

While our headquarters remain in Canandaigua, we also own vineyards and 12 wineries in California, Idaho, New York and Washington State. Our dedication to creating quality wines and beverages at an affordable price is reflected in the passion of our individual winemakers as well as all those who support them in their craft.
