Canandaigua Wine Announces Plans To Expand Division Headquarters In Ontario County

Canandaigua, NY – May 14, 2002 -- Canandaigua Wine, a division of Constellation Brands, Inc., announces plans to expand its headquarters in Canandaigua, New York. In addition to constructing a two-story, 42,000 square foot building expansion, the Company will convert space in the lower level of its existing building to office use.

The expanded Division headquarters will provide workspace for 115 employees now working at other locations in Canandaigua and will bring together more than 200 current employees in one location. Company officials anticipate that construction on the project will be completed by spring 2003.

By expanding Division headquarters, we can enhance daily business operations and provide a better working environment for Canandaigua Wine employees."

The expansion and other related improvements, including equipment and office furniture, will cost approximately $5.5 million dollars. Canandaigua Wine is finalizing further details about its headquarters expansion, including its construction timeline.

The decision to move forward with the office expansion followed site plan approvals by the City of Canandaigua Planning Commission and the Ontario County Planning Board. The Ontario County Office of Economic Development and Industrial Development Agency (IDA) also provided guidance during the planning process.
