Covey Run Launches New Website
Offers Consumers Chance to Take a Walk on the Washington Side

WOODINVILLE, Wash., July 15, 2002 – Covey Run Winery has launched a completely redesigned and user-friendly website, www.coveyrun.com, to give consumers more information about this popular Washington state brand, the wines and its witty namesake quails.

“We know our consumers are busy, but we also know they enjoy good wine and good food,” said Kerry Norton, winemaker for Covey Run.  “The new Covey Run website provides the kind of information they’re looking for, in a fun and easy to use manner.  We hope they’ll take a walk on the Washington side and experience all the new site has to offer.”

Visitors to the website will be greeted by the Covey Run quails, Murray and Maude, which are featured in current Covey Run advertising.  The new website offers useful information about Covey Run, the wines in the portfolio, the vineyards and growing grapes in Washington state.  The content is designed to be easy reading for the wine novice, yet sufficiently in-depth for the connoisseur and wine writer.

The highlight of the updated site is a Food & Wine section where consumers can find wine and food pairing recommendations as well as descriptions of each Covey Run varietal.  This section features  “Meals on the Run” recipes – delicious recipes that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less.  These recipes for appetizers, entrees and desserts were designed specifically to pair with Covey Run wines by Purple Café and Wine Bar in Woodinville, Wash.

Over its 20-year history, Covey Run has established itself as a leading Washington state brand by consistently producing outstanding varietal wines with a distinct Washington character.  After Covey Run introduced its first vintage in 1982, critics and consumers quickly recognized the fine quality of the wines, honoring them with popularity, acclaim and awards.

Covey Run makes wines from grapes grown mostly in the Yakima Valley, east of the Cascade Mountains.  Weather here is perfect for growing quality grapes.  Winemaker Kerry Norton joined Covey Run Winery just before harvest in 1999, bringing with him over a decade of Northwestern winemaking experience.  His goal is to continue producing fine wines that demonstrate Washington state’s unique characteristics with the hope of achieving national success for Covey Run.  Covey Run is a Canandaigua Wine Company brand.

Canandaigua Wine, a division of Constellation Brands, Inc. (NYSE: STZ, STZ.B), is the second largest wine company in the world.  Canandaigua Wine satisfies millions of consumers nationwide by providing quality wines for the enjoyment of everyday life.
